Desoto Insurance, Rupert Smith Merge
Two of Arcadia’s oldest businesses are joining forces. Colleen Donaldson and Terri Frazer of Rupert Smith Insurance Agency, founded in 1910, and Rex Smith and Lew Ambler of DeSoto Insurance agency, founded in 1918, have announced the merger of the two agencies.
Both businesses were founded by pioneer Arcadia businessmen before the county was divided – when there were three railroads in service – and before the land boom of the 1920s.
