Colodny Fass’ Mike Colodny and Katherine Webb Ranked Among Top Lawyers in Chambers USA 2012

Colodny Fass Shareholders Mike Colodny and Katherine S. Webb were named in Chambers USA 2012 among the top insurance lawyers in Florida.  The Firm was also recognized as one of the top insurance regulatory law firms in the state.

Each year, Chambers USA ranks the country’s leading firms and lawyers in an extensive range of practice areas.  The research is conducted through countless in-depth interviews with clients, industry leaders and others, as well as independent research.  The Chambers organization is known for the independence and objectivity of its research. For nearly four decades, Colodny Fass has represented clients in the U.S. and abroad in insurance regulatory law, government relations, administrative and transactional law, employment law and commercial litigation.   The Firm has been recognized internationally for several years as one of the top insurance law firms by Reactions , an international insurance publication, as well as the 2012 “Law Firm of the Year” for Insurance Regulatory Law and Insurance Litigation by DealMakers Country Awards.  Additionally, the Firm was named as one of Florida Trend magazine’s Top Five Lobbying Firms and was recently named “2012 Law Firm of the Year” by Lawyers World, a publication devoted to corporate law.  

Mr. Colodny, who serves as Managing Partner, focuses his practice on insurance regulatory law, governmental affairs and representation of insurance companies, Fortune 1000 companies and banks before government agencies and quasi-judicial public boards and commissions.  As former General Counsel for the Florida Residential Property and Casualty Joint Underwriting Association and its successor, Citizens Property Insurance Corporation, he was instrumental in negotiating several billion dollars in related catastrophe claims funding.  He is also a former member of Florida Underwriter magazine’s Editorial Advisory Board.

Ms. Webb, who was named a Shareholder this year, heads the firm’s Tallahassee office.  In her lobbying and regulatory work, she represents clients before the legislative and executive branches of government.  Last year, she received the “Outstanding Lobbying Efforts” award from the Florida Insurance Council for her efforts in crafting and advocating complex legislative insurance issues.  Also in 2011, she was appointed as an Adjunct Professor by the Florida State University College of Law.
