Citizens Property Insurance Rate Hearing Today; Average Florida Statewide Rates Would Increase 6.1 to 10.9 Percent

The Florida Office of Insurance Regulation has scheduled a public hearing today, September 7, 2010, to discuss proposed rate increases filed by Citizens Property Insurance Corporation.
The statewide average proposed rate increases vary from 6.1 to 10.9 percent, depending on the line of business. The following lines would be impacted:
- Homeowners Personal Lines Account
- Homeowners High-Risk Account
- Mobile Home Personal Lines Account
- Mobile Homeowners High-Risk Account
- Mobile Home Physical Damage High-Risk Account
- Mobile Home Physical Damage Personal Lines Account
