Key Projects Update

Vendors that responded to Citizens’ competitive solicitation for Core Insurance System Strategy Setting consultant services have been evaluated and selected.  Respondents have been asked to present their software solutions in March.  Following that, finalists will be asked to provide a detailed business case analysis and proof of concept.  Implementation of the Core Insurance System is anticipated to begin in the third quarter of 2010.

The Next Generation Communications Network has been installed by AT&T, which won the contract in a competitive solicitation process.  This higher capacity network is designed to be more reliable, so that policyholders will be able to communicate with Citizens more easily, especially if they have been impacted by a hurricane.

A competitive solicitation for the Data Center Re-Alignment Project is being conducted to choose a vendor that will assist in moving Citizens’ primary data center to co-locations in two vendor-provided facilities in Tallahassee.

Citizens’ staff members provided the Committee with a list of 19 priority projects for 2010 that are expected to improve Citizens information technology capability, as well as improve efficiency and customer service. To view the details of these projects, click here.
