Broward Days Welcomes “Budget Chief” Senator Joe Negron at Las Olas Riverside Hotel on February 24

Feb 12, 2014

Broward Days will host a reception for Florida Senate Appropriations Chairman Joe Negron on Monday, February 24, 2014 in the Las Olas Riverside Hotel from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The appearance by Senator Negron, known as the Florida Senate’s “Budget Chief,” is part of the Broward Days program in preparation for the 2014 Florida Legislative Session.

“Now that Governor Rick Scott has presented his proposal for Florida’s 2014 State Budget, the media spotlight will be squarely focused on Senator Negron,” explained Broward Days Chairman Mike Colodny.  “This reception is a very unique opportunity for Broward’s business and political community to meet and interact with one of Florida’s most powerful public policy leaders.”

Sponsored by Baptist Health South Florida, the reception will be the final complimentary event before Broward Days’ new membership fees begin.  To attract new members, or those who may have been hoping to rejoin, fees have been lowered for the coming season, which will include the scheduled 2015 renewal of the organization’s traditional annual Tallahassee pilgrimage.

“Broward Days’ new strategy of ‘Bringing Tallahassee to Broward’ is designed to create a solid partnership with our policymakers-thereby accomplishing our members legislative goals and bringing better sponsor value, long-term,” Colodny added.

Most recently, Broward Days hosted Florida House Speaker Will Weatherford at a reception hosted by Nova Southeastern University.

With a 20-year history of advocacy, Broward Days is an independent, nonprofit and nonpartisan local, state and federal legislative advocacy organization serving the public policy needs of Broward County businesses and citizens.
