Sameka Thompson is an attorney in the litigation practice group at Colodny Fass where she focuses on first-party insurance defense litigation. Ms. Thompson brings over five years of legal experience to the firm. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Thompson provided defense in the litigation of premises liability, negligent security, catastrophic personal injury, wrongful death, employment discrimination, community associations, and first-party claims. During law school, Ms. Thompson was a Certified Legal Intern at the City of Miami Office City Attorney’s Office in the Litigation Division, and volunteered her services with the Florida New Americans Campaign. Before embarking on her legal career, Ms. Thompson was an educator with the School Board of Broward County for eleven years. Ms. Thompson served as Department Chair, Faculty Council Chair and in other mentorship roles.
Ms. Thompson’s professional and personal philosophy includes giving back in ways that make a meaningful difference to the local and global communities to which she dedicates her practice. She has served as a Content Advisor for the Florida Department of Education’s Civics Content Advisory and Task Advisory Committees. She currently serves on the Florida Bar’s Law Related Education Committee and previously served on the Bar’s Education Law Association. Ms. Thompson was recently a featured speaker on the University of Michigan, Alumni Insights program.
