Peter Mathews is an attorney in the litigation practice group at Colodny Fass. He focuses his practice on complex civil litigation, insurance litigation, business disputes and employment-related matters.
Mr. Mathews has experience representing insurers, employers, boards, municipal governments and agencies, and individuals in contractual, property, personal injury, and employment- and business-related disputes, among other complex commercial litigation matters. Mr. Mathews has experience advising, counseling, and representing clients in cases involving municipal law issues and in matters relating to Florida’s Sunshine Law and related laws, as well as advising and representing clients in negotiating, evaluating and structuring all manner of complex commercial agreements, from purchase and sale agreements, licensing and other commercial agreements to employment contracts, and nondisclosure, confidentiality, and noncompete agreements. He also advises employers and business entities regarding compliance and litigation avoidance concerning general liability, employment, and technical matters, such as data retention policies.
Mr. Mathews was born and raised in Fairfax, Virginia. He attended the University of Virginia for his undergraduate education, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Philosophy, Policy and Law, an interdisciplinary honors major. He obtained his law degree from the Washington and Lee University School of Law in 2011. He attended law school on an academic scholarship and was a member of the Phi Delta Phi Honor Society.
Mr. Mathews is licensed to practice in the State of Florida. He has lived in South Florida since 2012 and is fluent in Spanish.
