Michael W. Baker joined Colodny Fass in 2022 as a partner in the litigation practice group. He is an experienced litigator representing homeowner and general liability insurers in all aspects of insurance defense litigation throughout Florida for more than thirty years. His area of concentration focuses on homeowner first and third-party insurance defense, construction defects litigation as well as analyzing and litigating coverage issues.
Mr. Baker started his career as an associate at a large, Florida law firm where he practiced all aspect of insurance defense as well as representing self-insured corporations. He has handled everything from auto accident defense, products liability defense and commercial litigation. He went from an associate to partner ultimately helping start a boutique insurance defense law firm where he practiced law for more than 20 years.
Mr. Baker’s goal is to provide superior legal representation to our clients in the areas of first- and third-party liability claims, as well as coverage disputes. He has tried cases to verdict in various circuit courts in Florida and has argued before various district courts of appeal, the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeal and the Florida Supreme Court.
Mr. Baker believes that while taking a case to verdict should always be an option, he recognizes that protracted litigation is not always in our clients’ best interest. As a result, he often assists clients in litigation avoidance and claims resolution. His goal is to provide superior legal representation to her clients.
He received his Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern University in 1985.
